About the Role
As the Project Officer for Dartmoor, you will deliver the Bike It Moor project, which is part of the Dartmoor Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme. You will work with selected schools and the wider community in the project areas to develop and deliver fun, engaging and innovative activities and events that promote active travel (walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling) to school.
* Plan and deliver practical skills sessions (cycle and scooter skills, bike maintenance, led walks and rides).
* Organise information events such as assemblies, drop‑in sessions and pop‑up stands.
* Run competitions, incentive programmes and classroom sessions.
* Facilitate day and overnight cycling and walking experiences.
* Recruit, train and support local volunteers.
* Collaborate with project officers across the South region and the UK.
* Report directly to the local Project Manager.
About You
* Experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
* Evidence of planning and delivering engaging group workshops and events.
* Experience of delivering successful behaviour‑change projects, ideally with a physical activity focus.
* Understanding of community‑based or environmental projects.
* Strong communication skills for engaging children, parents, school staff and the wider community.
* Interim DBS checks and a full DBS check must be completed.
* Based within the geographical area with regular travel expected.
Contract & Remuneration
* Contract type: Permanent
* Location: Dartmoor National Park Authority office (flexible to work from home)
* Full time – 37.5 hours per week (flexible working)
* Salary: £28,831 per annum (pro rata for part‑time)
