About the Role
The Quality Engineer role at Safran is a critical position responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of products and services supplied by external vendors and internal teams. Based in Cwmbran, South Wales, the successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the high standards that Safran is known for. Your primary focus will be on assessing supplier quality, supporting the rollout of new programmes, and developing product standards to ensure all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant engineering qualification, such as a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Quality Engineering. Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry, particularly in supplier quality assurance, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and industry-specific regulations will be essential. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams are crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Assess and verify supplier quality to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and internal specifications.
* Support the implementation and rollout of new programmes, ensuring quality standards are integrated from inception through to delivery.
* Develop, implement, and maintain product standards and quality procedures to align with company policies and industry best practices.
* Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers and internal processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, and engineering to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
* Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process enhancement.
* Participate in supplier development initiatives and quality improvement projects to foster continuous improvement.
* Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support quality assessments and compliance audits.
