We’re looking for a dedicated Youth Engagement Support Worker to join our team and help deliver high‑quality support, activities, and guidance for young people across Wakefield.
About the Role
As a Youth Engagement Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the aims of the Wakefield Children and Young People’s Plan. You’ll help develop and deliver a wide range of group activities, one‑to‑one support sessions, and targeted programmes for young people aged 11 to 24.
You’ll work directly with young people in a variety of settings, helping them to:
1. Access employment, training, and education opportunities
2. Improve their health and wellbeing
3. Connect with community services and positive activities
4. Build confidence, resilience, and life skills
What You’ll Be Doing
5. Planning and delivering engaging group sessions and one‑to‑one support
6. Building positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds
7. Working collaboratively with schools, colleges, training providers and employers to identify work placements and learning opportunities
8. Supporting young people to access, prepare for, and sustain these opportunities
9. Working alongside community partners and stakeholders to improve access to local services
10. Advocating for young people and promoting their voice in service development and delivery
