We're recruiting on behalf of a prestigious professional services firm looking for a Credit Controller to join their small, dedicated collections team in Liverpool. This role reports directly to the Credit Control Manager and works closely with Partners, Secretaries, clients, and finance teams to manage and reduce aged debt.\n\nYou'll support specific fee-earning departments and liaise regularly with the London-based Working Capital Manager and Revenue Controllers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team focused on improving processes, reducing lock-up, and hitting cash collection targets.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProactively manage debtor balances for assigned groups.\nChase overdue invoices by phone and email.\nMonitor and respond to the shared credit control inbox daily.\nAttend regular Teams/Skype meetings with London teams to review performance.\nCollaborate with Revenue Controllers to resolve queries and payment issues.\nSupport daily cash collection monitoring and reporting.\nAssist the cashier team in reconciling payments.\nMaintain accurate data in the collections software.\nContribute to ad hoc projects as required by Credit Control Manager or Revenue Controllers.What We're Looking For\n Essential Experience:\n\n2+ year's experience in a similar role within professional services.\nHigh-volume invoice chasing experience.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).\nGood understanding of VAT.Desirable:\n\nLegal sector experience.\nFamiliarity with Aderant finance systems.\nKnowledge of Solicitor's Accounting Rules and billing processes.Skills & Attributes:\n\nStrong client service mindset.\nExceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nEffective communicator (written and verbal).\nSelf-motivated, proactive team player.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage workloads independently.\nProfessional approach and excellent interpersonal skills.Benefits Include:\n\nHybrid working model (3 days in-office).\n25 days annual leave + discretionary December day off + optional extra 5 days purchase (pro rata).\nEnhanced maternity/paternity leave (up to 26 weeks full pay after 1 year).\nComprehensive flexible benefits package
