Position Type -: Full time assistant supervisor.
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on supervisor to join our vibrant team. This is a Lead-by-example role that requires someone who thrives in a fast paced, ever changing environment. The ideal candidate must be available to work both weekdays & weekends.
From managing seasonal stock rotations to supporting staff across the shop and café, you'll be instrumental in the day-to-day success and future planning of our Garden Centre.
Key responsibilities:
Daily Operations: Oversee the smooth running of the shopfloor, outdoor plant areas, and café where required. Tasks vary daily and require flexibility and adaptability.
Team leadership: Support, motivate and guide a diverse team, ensuring high standards of customer service, productivity and morale.
Stock management: Take responsibility for timely stock rotation and merchandising, particularly with seasonal changes. Ensure displays are fresh, relevant and well stocked.
Event planning: Assist in planning and preparing for key events throughout the year, such as spring launches, Christmas displays and open nights.
Deadline management: Work to tight timeframes to prepare the centre for promotions, seasonal transitions, and high traffic periods.
Customer service: Lead by example in delivering outstanding service and ensuring customer satisfaction is priority in all areas.
Hands on Support: Be willing and ready to step in wherever needed — whether that's in the shop, plant area, lending a hand in the café, or assisting with deliveries.
Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and team members.
About You:
Previous experience in a supervisory role, ideally within retail, horticulture, or hospitality.
Comfortable working at a fast pace and managing multiple priorities.

* Organised and forward thinking - able to plan ahead for busy periods and events.
* Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all areas of the business.

Pay: £12.40-£13.65 per hour
