Overview
Teaching Personnel is seeking motivated graduates who are considering a career in education. The Future Teachers Programme provides a structured two-year pathway, allowing graduates to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into a salaried teacher training route.
This programme is ideal for individuals who want to explore teaching in a school setting prior to committing to formal Initial Teacher Training (ITT).
Programme Structure
Year 1: School-Based Experience (Cover Supervisor Role)
Participants will be placed in a secondary school in Bournemouth, working as Cover Supervisors. Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising classes during short-term teacher absence
* Delivering pre-prepared work set by the class teacher
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Supporting teaching staff and pastoral systems where required
This role does not involve lesson planning, marking, or direct teaching, enabling participants to develop confidence and a strong understanding of school life.
Year 2: Salaried Teacher Training Route
On successful completion of Year 1, participants will progress into a fully salaried Initial Teacher Training (ITT) position. This second year includes:
* Working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Structured mentoring and professional development
* Opportunity to complete a PGCE alongside QTS
* Continued placement within the same school or trust, where possible
This ensures continuity and a smooth transition into teacher training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
