Join the Jacobs Graduate Development Programme (GDP), a structured two-year scheme designed to support your development at the start of your Jacobs career journey. Through blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking, you will establish yourself across four focus areas: human skills, consulting skills, championing our strategy, and your passions. The GDP lets you customise your learning journey to reflect your interests, career goals and technical skillset. Much of the learning will be on-the-job, guided by your manager and mentor. The programme aims to launch your career by providing tools, experiences and support for meaningful projects and collaboration with industry leaders.

Jacobs has secured multi-year contracts and projects with leading clients in the water sector across the UK and Ireland. We welcome candidates from all disciplines who are looking to grow their careers in the water sector and embrace flexible working. This role is within our team of over 1,000 water professionals delivering projects in water/wastewater networks, treatment, asset management, catchment management, modelling and project/programme management.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary structure focused on technical excellence, delivering projects to agreed timeframes and budgets.
Due to demand in the water sector, our teams are working on programmes of work for major water companies in the UK. The following activities are representative of the role:
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions
* Design of water treatment plants, pumping stations and distribution networks
* Design of wastewater treatment plants and drainage network assets
* Design of pressure and gravity pipelines
* Site layouts for markets such as water, data centres and energy
* Preparation of feasibility studies for new water and wastewater assets, including regional transfer within the RAPID SRO programme

What you’ll need
* Be working towards a relevant Degree or Master’s qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering or similar
* A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward
* Adaptable to change with a thirst for learning
* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
