We have a great opportunity to work as a Ward Administrator at Princess Royal Hospital Haywards Heath.
There is a full‑time position available where the candidate will work across different inpatient wards, providing a focused administration service within the Clinical Administration Inpatients department at the Princess Royal Hospital.
Successful candidates will be honest, confident, have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise their workload effectively.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a flexible, dynamic, and motivated ward administrator for our fast‑paced, friendly Inpatient Team. The role ensures adequate coverage across a defined group of wards and departments. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and timely admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, managing patients’ medical notes, and accurately inputting information into our PAS system for patient care and data quality.

Assume responsibility for teamwork while also being able to work unsupervised, using your own initiative and reporting skills. Excellent organisational and time‑keeping skills are essential.
Work closely with patients, relatives, and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other professionals. You will be one of the first faces patients and relatives see upon arrival, handling queries face‑to‑face, by phone, and via email. The role requires excellent communication and spelling skills, multitasking ability, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
