Salary: £45,000 | Location: Wakefield, Yorkshire | Contract: 12 Month FTC

Are you a seasoned testing professional ready to take the lead on delivering excellence? We're seeking an experienced Test Lead to join a dynamic IT team where you'll shape testing strategy, drive quality assurance, and ensure robust software delivery across critical business systems.

What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership:
Own and develop comprehensive test strategies for large-scale projects and business deliverables
Create, review and implement detailed test plans covering functional, integration, regression and performance testing
Define and lead defect management processes with clear severity and priority frameworks
Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies, policies and tools
Hands-On Delivery:
Plan and execute automated and manual testing across existing solutions, new developments and enhancements
Manage release activities through pre-production environments, identifying and mitigating risks
Coordinate impact assessments for Microsoft, ISV and vendor releases
Lead security testing initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Team Leadership:
Manage and develop a Release and Test team, allocating work and supporting career growth
Collaborate with IT managers and project teams to understand testing demands
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Provide expert guidance on testing methodologies and tools
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
Level 5 qualification (degree level or equivalent)
ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst/Manager Certification or Advanced Level Agile Tester
Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
Essential Experience:
Significant experience managing technical teams in fast-paced environments
Extensive expertise in system and software testing (functional, performance, regression, usability, security)
Proven experience with automated test tools (Selenium, Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps, Microsoft RSAT, LeapWorks)
Strong background in integration testing and API validation
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to embed security and privacy by design
Desirable:
ITSM qualifications (ITIL Intermediate/Expert)
Modern project management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner)
