I’ll be honest, this is one of those roles that will either massively appeal to someone… or completely put them off.
Because this isn’t a “sit in the office and watch contractors” type of facilities role.
And it’s not a pure production engineer role either.
This business needs someone who can properly own the site.
Someone who can walk into a factory, spot problems before they become breakdowns, challenge standards, manage contractors properly, keep on top of PMs/admin AND still be hands on when needed.
You’ll be covering things like:
• HVAC
• Electrical systems
• Site infrastructure
• Cold stores
• Packing hall support
• Facilities projects
• Contractor management
• Preventative maintenance
• Engineering admin systems
• General site improvements
The right person for this role is probably already doing half of this unofficially in their current job anyway.
The kind of engineer who naturally takes ownership.
The one people go to when something needs sorting properly.
The role is DAYS ONLY which nowadays is becoming harder and harder to find in manufacturing.
The site itself is well established, busy and genuinely investing.
This would suit someone from a food/FMCG manufacturing background who wants a role with a bit more variety and responsibility without disappearing into management meetings all day.
