Sodexo delivers integrated catering and facilities services on site. We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Front of House Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality food service operations and ensure an excellent customer experience across all catering areas.
The Role
The Front of House Assistant will play a key role in delivering a consistent, high-standard catering service. This includes supporting the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages, while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment in line with company and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a professional and efficient front of house service, ensuring a high standard of customer care at all times
* Support the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages in line with Sodexo standards
* Serve customers during service periods, including operating tills and handling transactions accurately
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all front of house areas, including counters, dining spaces, and equipment in line with cleaning schedules
* Ensure food is displayed and served in a clean, safe, and compliant manner
* Monitor and replenish stock levels across service areas to meet operational demand
* Assist with deliveries, including checking goods and recording temperatures in line with food safety requirements
* Record and report customer feedback, incidents, or any irregularities to management promptly
* Support special events and functions as required, and provide cover across different service areas when needed
* Comply with all company and statutory regulations, including health & safety, hygiene, fire safety, and COSHH
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a catering or food service environment
* Strong customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, standards-driven environment
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* A proactive, reliable, and hands‑on approach
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
Desirable
* Experience operating tills and handling cash transactions
* Knowledge of food safety and health & safety practices
* Relevant training or qualifications in catering or hospitality
Additional Information
This role requires flexibility to support a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, and to assist across different areas of the catering operation as required.
