About the role
As an Assistant Housing Officer you will provide administrative support to the University Housing Services Team and assist with the general day-to-day work of the Housing Services Department, ensuring that our customers are dealt with promptly and professionally.
About you
To be an ideal candidate for this role we are looking for a highly organised and approachable individual who thrives in a busy, student-facing environment. You will be a strong team player, confident in acting as a first point of contact and able to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of people, including students, staff, and external visitors.
You will require excellent administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to accurately maintain both digital and manual records. Comfort with using specialised software and willingness to learn new systems is important, alongside the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
A proactive and adaptable mindset is essential, as the role involves supporting colleagues, contributing to the development of office procedures, and assisting with a variety of tasks. The person should be able to use their judgement to handle routine enquiries independently while recognising when to elevate more complex issues.
Finally, the ideal candidate would be flexible and reliable, willing to support events such as open days and work occasional weekends when required, while maintaining a professional and helpful attitude at all times.
