About the Role As the People and Culture Director, you’ll play a key role in delivering our ambitious growth plans and ensuring our customers receive best-in-class security solutions. You will be accountable for shaping and executing the People and Culture strategy to enable sustainable business performance and growth. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will ensure DeterTech attracts, develops, and retains world-class talent, builds organisational capability, and creates a values-driven culture that empowers colleagues to thrive. This role is hybrid/remote, as it requires regular travel required between Telford, London and our EU offices. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Organisational Design Partner with CEO and Board to shape business strategy and translate it into a people and organisation agenda. Lead workforce planning to align talent, skills, and structure to future growth priorities. Provide strategic HR advice and challenge to CEO and Executive Team. Talent, Leadership & Culture Develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition, leadership development, and succession planning. Build organisational capability in line with innovation, customer, and market needs. Champion a high-performance culture that balances accountability with wellbeing. Embed DeterTech’s values into leadership, colleague experience, and recognition programmes. Reward, Engagement & Inclusion Lead the design and delivery of reward, recognition, and benefits strategies that drive engagement and retention. Oversee performance management, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and culture. Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to create a culture of belonging and opportunity. Lead colleague engagement, ensuring regular listening, feedback, and action loops. People Operations & Governance Ensure efficient, compliant HR operations including payroll, policies, employee relations, and systems. Drive digital HR transformation through data, analytics, and technology platforms. Ensure compliance with employment law, health & safety, and governance standards globally. Provide oversight of risk management relating to people, culture, and organisational resilience. Leadership & Influence Act as a trusted advisor to CEO, Executive Team, and Board on all people and culture matters. Represent DeterTech’s people agenda externally with investors, regulators, and industry bodies. Build credibility and visibility across the organisation as a role-model leader. Key Relationships Internal: CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, Engineering Director, Group Operations Director, Country MDs, Executive Team, People Leaders. External: Investors, regulators, legal advisors, HR networks, industry partners. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Experience Proven track record in senior HR leadership (CPO, Group HR Director, HR VP). Experience shaping and delivering people strategies in complex, multi-country organisations. Strong background in organisational design, cultural transformation, and leadership development. Experience in private equity or investor-backed environments. Sector experience in technology, manufacturing, or services desirable. Skills & Attributes Strategic thinker with ability to translate people strategy into measurable business outcomes. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at Board and investor level.
