This role is ideal for someone who believes that confidence, trust, and self-esteem come before academics, and who can create a calm, supportive learning environment.
✨ About the Role
1. 10 hours per week, flexible schedule
2. Focus on building confidence, emotional wellbeing, and self-belief
3. Academic support in GCSE Maths and English, introduced gradually at the young person’s pace
4. Sessions will begin at home, with the goal of transitioning into local community settings such as libraries or quiet cafés to promote confidence and social interaction
5. A mentoring style is essential – this is not a high-pressure academic role
📌 Requirements
6. Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK-based education setting
7. SEN experience desirable, but not essential
8. Calm, patient, trauma-informed approach
9. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
10. Comfortable supporting a young person both academically and emotionally
11. Ideally a driver who is willing to transport the student to local public settings when appropriate
