Citadel Source are pleased to be working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business based in Bristol, currently looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop within a broad accounting role, offering exposure across management accounting, reporting, and process improvement within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
About you
You are someone with a strong attention to detail who enjoys working within a collaborative finance function. You’re confident managing multiple priorities, comfortable working to deadlines, and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working. You enjoy working with data and reporting, whilst also building strong relationships across the wider business.
As an Assistant Accountant, your role will include, but not be limited to:
* Supporting the production of monthly management accounts
* Completing daily bank reconciliations
* Producing weekly and ad hoc financial reporting
* Administering company credit cards and related processes
* Conducting monthly control account reconciliations
* Supporting overhead analysis and financial reporting
* Assisting the wider finance team with month-end activities
* Supporting accounts payable processes including invoice matching where required
* Running reports and supporting financial data analysis
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements across finance operations
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
* Working collaboratively across teams to support wider business objectives
What the client is looking for
* Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance role
* Strong Excel skills
* AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
* Strong communication skills and confidence working across teams
* A proactive mindset with the ability to suggest and support process improvements
* A collaborative approach and willingness to develop within the role
