Maintenance Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations and drive continuous improvement across a manufacturing facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems while fostering a strong culture of safety, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of hands-on technical expertise and people leadership, with a deep understanding of Lean tools and asset management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to the maintenance team, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
* Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance and reliability plans to enhance equipment performance, uptime, and lifecycle management.
* Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives to resolve recurring equipment issues and prevent downtime.
* Drive continuous improvement projects that support productivity, cost reduction, and quality targets, using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Oversee compliance with environmental and safety regulations and serve as a key stakeholder in audits and inspections.
* Collaborate with cross-functional departments including production, engineering, and EHS to support plant-wide initiatives and performance goals.
* Manage capital projects from scope definition through execution, including equipment specification, vendor coordination, budgeting, and scheduling.
* Ensure efficient use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work order tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling, and inventory control.
* Analyze equipment and performance data to identify trends and drive strategic decision-making.
* Benchmark with peer facilities to identify best practices and implement innovative reliability solutions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
* At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record of implementing asset management strategies and delivering measurable improvements in uptime and cost performance.
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma principles (certifications preferred).
* Experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maintenance Connection, SAP PM) and familiarity with data analysis and condition monitoring tools.
* Strong interpersonal and team-building skills, with the ability to influence across departments.
* Effective project management capabilities with demonstrated success in capital planning and execution.
* Relevant certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), CRL (Certified Reliability Leader), or similar are a plus.
* Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing or walking.
