The future of Britain’s electricity market is being rewritten and this is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping it. Join Ofgem in a Senior Policy Lead role at a pivotal moment for the energy sector, where your expertise will help deliver major reforms that support a secure, low-carbon and affordable electricity system.
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving towards Net Zero while protecting energy consumers, especially those in vulnerable circumstances.
This is a rare opportunity to influence one of the most significant reform programmes in the energy system. You’ll join a highly skilled, collaborative team working on the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA), helping to shape the future of how electricity is traded, balanced and delivered across Great Britain. The work is fast-paced, intellectually challenging and highly visible, giving you real impact on decisions that affect millions.
You’ll have the chance to lead complex, strategic policy development, contribute to national debate and work closely with government and key system stakeholders. The role offers stretch, visibility and purpose, with plenty of variety and opportunities to develop and grow.
We’re looking for someone with strong energy market knowledge and experience of shaping complex policy. If you bring strategic thinking, excellent judgement and a collaborative approach, you’ll thrive in this role and be well positioned to progress.
We offer flexible working, a culture built on trust and inclusion, and a clear focus on your wellbeing and development. You’ll be part of a supportive, mission-driven organisation that values your contribution and gives you the platform to make a difference.
We have a critical purpose to deliver market reform that supports the future of energy in Britain and focuses on better outcomes for consumers and a more stainable, resilient marketplace. Join us and help shape a system fit for the future.
* Deep understanding of energy markets and the economics of investment and operation in those markets, including Wholesale Market, trading, balancing services markets, CfD scheme and network charging and access. (LEAD)
