About The Role
What will I be doing?
You'll Shape And Deliver Commercial Success Across The Region
Strategically grow commercial activities by winning new business, exploring opportunities, and ensuring consistent, high-quality material flows into SUEZ facilities to meet demand and boost profitability.
Develop facility-specific commercial sales plans to optimise throughput, pricing, and material quality while aligning with overarching regional strategy.
Deliver regional budgetary targets through targeted sales tactics, customer research, and innovative value-add within existing contracts.
Lead negotiations, manage quotations/bids/contracts, and provide accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, and competitor insights to senior leadership.
Recommend and implement regional strategy tactics, focusing on partnerships, new streams (including refuse and biomass markets), and continuous improvement.
What are the requirements?
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds — your commercial acumen and passion for sustainability are key:
At least 7 years' track record in commercial sales, business development, raw material purchasing, and/or end-product sales (essential; waste/recycling industry primary).
Strong negotiating, strategic decision-making, and entrepreneurial skills with proven ability to create partnerships and identify opportunities.
Deep understanding of contracts, market dynamics, competitors, and customer needs in the North region (refuse-derived fuel/RDF and biomass market knowledge highly desirable).
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across internal teams and manage priorities under pressure.
Full UK driving licence (required for occasional travel).
We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in waste management, recycling, and sustainability sectors. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know — we're committed to being an inclusive employer.
This senior role offers significant autonomy, the chance to influence regional strategy, professional growth in a purpose-led organisation, and the pride of contributing to reduced landfill, resource conservation, and a more sustainable UK.
If you're a commercially sharp, relationship-focused leader motivated by environmental impact and business success, we'd love to hear from you.
