Overview
A fantastic position has become available in the Early Intervention in Psychosis service for a Band 5 Newly Qualified Social Worker. The service provides a focused and specific community provision for the population of Bedfordshire & Luton, in response to the needs of individuals and their families experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The team works across CAMHS services and Adult Mental Health Services with an age range starting at 14 years. We are recruiting for both the North Bedfordshire and South Bedfordshire teams.
Training and Development
* ELFT and local borough councils offer training opportunities to support Social Workers to maintain their professional registration with Social Work England.
* AMHP training is encouraged as a natural progression for Social Workers within Mental Health Services.
* Opportunity to be trained in Behavioural Family Therapy, CAARMs Assessment tool and psychosocial interventions.
* Monthly team development days to support continuous professional development.
* ASYE (assessed and supported year in employment) training program with support from a dedicated senior mental health social worker.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Participate in the ASYE training programme.
2. Coordinate care for a defined caseload of service users with the guidance and support of your nominated supervisor.
3. Endorse and act in accordance with the principles of personalisation within The Care Act 2014 to ensure person-centred care and support, including carrying out assessments of need, planning and delivering services, and reviewing outcomes with individuals, their networks and support providers.
4. Work in partnership with service users and carers, identifying and utilising strengths, and collaborate with other agencies and voluntary groups to achieve good outcomes while maintaining independence.
5. Maintain a good working knowledge of The Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act/DOLS and other social care legislation to inform practice and promote social care issues within the team.
Requirements and Benefits
* Post holder will have a caseload with oversight from an allocated senior mental health practitioner.

* Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business purposes.
