Job Description
Our client is a London-based Law firm where people are committed to achieving the goals of listed and private companies, institutions, and individuals. Our experience encompasses corporate, commercial litigation and arbitration, employment and pensions, finance, marine and international trade and real estate.
They are now looking to hire a Senior Management Accountant to join the accounts team on a contract basis. The accounts team is made up of several sections: management accounts; purchase ledger; partnership accounting; credit control; cashiering and billing.
Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and balance sheet reviews.
* Conduct monthly reviews of Practice Group performance, investigating and explaining variances.
* Assist with the London office annual budgeting and forecasting process, supporting Heads of Business Services throughout.
* Manage intercompany billing and account reconciliations.
* Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement schedules and Payment Practice Reports.
* Prepare bank covenant calculations.
* Provide financial data to support the annual partner appraisal process.
* Assist in the testing and development of new financial reports.
* Prepare quarterly and annual legal surveys and National Statistics submissions.
* Produce ad hoc management information as required.
* Review the work of assistant management accountants and support their professional development.
Candidate Profile
* Experience working in the accounts department of a professional services firm
* Experience of preparing monthly management accounts
* This role is suitable for someone who is a qualified accountant.
* Strong excel skills
* Able to use own initiative and challenge work practices
* Strong communication and inter-personal skills and excellent team player
* Be flexible to do any additional hours when necessary to meet task deadlines
