Drake Hall team seeks a senior psychologist to lead the Women’s Estate Psychology Service (WEPS) and collaborate with the prison Senior Management Team.
Overview
The successful candidate will maintain a clinical caseload, drive risk‑reduction and safety initiatives, provide core forensic work, and support staff and women in custody through psychological formulation and multi‑agency working.
Responsibilities
* Lead the WEPS team and coordinate all psychological services within the women’s estate.
* Work alongside prison SMT to provide strategic input on risk and safety.
* Maintain a clinical caseload focused on reducing risk and increasing safety.
* Provide parole and sentence‑planning related work and support transitions back into the community.
* Act as a coordinating clinical supervisor for trainees undertaking recognised training routes.
* Collaborate with staff and women in custody using a strength‑based, multi‑agency approach.
Qualifications
* Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and eligible to use a protected title.
* Minimum of 18 months post‑registration experience (minimum of two years required for appointment).
* Strong English language skills – written and spoken.
* Evidence of experience (CV or work history) and a statement of suitability.
* Competencies in making effective decisions, leadership, communicating and influencing, working together, managing a quality service, delivering at pace, and developing self and others.

* Hybrid working arrangements (base location, other MoJ sites, or home) – role must be based in the UK.
* Annual salary range £55,457 – £61,003 (London range £58,471 – £66,044).
* Full‑time working hours: 37 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks).
