Robotic Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Fellow

The post holder will join a dedicated 6-member Gyn oncology fellow team to provide middle-grade clinical cover for inpatient care for patients in the ward or High Dependency Unit / Intensive Therapy Unit and also contribute towards outpatient clinics (joint oncology and pre-operative), Gynaecology MDT Clinics, and Gynaecological oncology theatres. They are expected to work and contribute the Gyn Oncology middle grade on- call rota) non-resident cover) with an occasional requirement (based on career stage) to cover the general gynaecology on-call rota. There is no contribution to obstetrics in this post.This post will be suitable for registration and completion of the BIARGS Gynae Robotic surgeon training curriculum. Through our collaboration with Intuitive, the surgeon will also meet the Da Vinci Console Surgeon Training and Equivalency Certificate Requirements.The job plan is only a guide to the weekly activities of the post, which may alter depending on on-call commitments and the requirements of the department to cover emergency work. The post duration will be for a minimum of 1 year.
Main duties of the job
Provide middle-grade clinical cover for inpatient care in ward/HDU/ITU
Take part in outpatient clinics, Gynaecologic oncology MDT
Contribute to work in Gynaecologic oncology theatres
Take part in the Gynaecology Oncology middle-grade on-call rota

Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Confidence in gynaecological surgical skills evidenced by ATSM/SITM
* Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of clinical knowledge and the enthusiasm to promote evidence-based practice
* Demonstrate evidence of being able to manage time and prioritise clinical need
* Demonstrable evidence of laparoscopy skills
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
* Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC
* Part 3 MRCOG completed
* Evidence Benign Gynaecology/Advanced Laparoscopy ATSM/SITM completion
* Evidence of distinction at university or postgraduate examinations
* oCertification of previous robotic training
Experience
* Evidence of 7 years clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
* Evidence of involvement in an audit project, a quality improvement project or research project
