Main duties and responsibilities:
* Be creative in arts and crafts activities.
* Enjoy going for walks to the park.
* Support a service user (SU) with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
* Recognize signs before behaviour escalates and use distraction techniques as per the SU's Positive Behaviour Plan and support plan.
* Participate in daily support with individuals.
* Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and social events.
* Maintain effective communication and liaise with service users, management, and families while respecting confidentiality.
* Support with personal care (bathing, showering, toileting).
* Support community-based activities (swimming, bowling, Zumba, gym, shopping, cycling, cinema).
* Be aware of triggers for challenging behaviour and respond appropriately.
Personal Characteristics:
* Familiarity or willingness to learn about Sesame Street characters like Muppets.
* Basic computer skills for activities like printing arts and crafts materials.
* Willingness to play musical instruments with the SU.
* Diploma or equivalent in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum, epilepsy, learning disabilities, or mental health issues.
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and work confidently with individuals with challenging behaviour.
* Passion for working with vulnerable adults and high standards of safeguarding.
* Enjoy singing and dancing with service users.
* Knowledge of PBS approach.
* Self-motivated to support service users in planning activities at home and in the community.
