Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated full‑time Consultant Medical Oncologist with responsibility in Breast and Hepatobiliary cancer for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Main Duties
A full range of oncology emergency and elective patients are admitted to NUTH and the appointee will manage those patients under his/her care. The role involves provision of comprehensive elective and emergency oncology service, reciprocal cover for periods of leave, and continuing responsibility for patients in his/her charge and proper functioning of the department. These duties are subject to review from time to time and may be modified with mutual agreement.
About Us
The speciality serves a resident population of 1.1 million, sees approximately 5,000 new patients each year, and provides a comprehensive range of non‑surgical oncology services to the East Midlands. The oncology service has four dedicated inpatient wards (including a teenage and young adult unit), an oncology outpatient department, two outpatient systemic therapy wards, satellite clinics at Kings Mill Hospital, and a 24‑hour admission service. The current consultant team comprises 12 medical oncologists and 27 clinical oncologists, with established training and academic programmes.

Person Specification
Professional Registration
* Full GMC registration; eligible to be included on the Specialist Register, CCT expected within 6 months of interview date.
Professional Qualifications/Development
* MRCP or equivalent FRCR.
Desirable
* Research publications in peer‑review journals.
Clinical Skills
* Experience and special interest in HPB and breast cancer.
* Experience in prescribing and managing patients with systemic anti‑cancer therapy.
Management Skills
* Able to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service delivery and development.
Teaching, Audit & Research
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit.
* Able to teach and support junior staff effectively.
Practical Requirements
* Ability to travel between City Hospital Campus and Kings Mill Hospital.
