Job Description

DEA Officer - Mid & East Antrim Borough Council - Ballymena Join Mid & East Antrim Borough Council as a District Electoral Area Officer and play a key role in supporting community development and local engagement initiatives across the borough. About the role:
1. £20.66 per hour
2. Location: Ballymena
3. Monday to Friday
4. 37 hours a week
5. Temporary until 31/0/26
What you'll be doing in this role:
6. Act as a primary point of contact for the DEA, dealing with day to day enquiries from members of the public, elected members, key community, statutory and voluntary partners in relation to local issues and concerns.
7. Assist the DEA Manager with the effective delivery of a portfolio of services as already detailed under the Main Purpose of Job, specifically in relation to PCSP, Good Relations, Community Planning, Community Development (including Neighbourhood Renewal & Areas at Risk Programmes), Basic Services and Community Services.
8. Responsible for the staff and operational aspects (along with other relevant Council Departments) of the community centres appropriate to their DEAs, including oversight of paper based and electronic front desk management system(s).
9. Develop and deliver a programme of activities to increase participation, levels of usage and footfall within the community centres.
10. Responsible for the development and implementation of a DEA Clusters Action Plan which responds to identified local need.
11. Implement a programme of outreach work to enhance the public and community awareness of the DEA Clusters and to increase the involvement of the public with the aim of achieving positive outcomes.
What you'll need for this role:
12. Degree or equivalent qualification in a Building related subject and must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 3 years’ experience of managing capital projects from design to client handover.
13. Membership of a recognised professional body relevant to the post.
14. OR if you do not possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Building related subject, have 5 years’ experience managing capital projects from design to client handover
