Overview
We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join our team. We are a well-established friendly Group of Practices based in Haddington, East Lothian.
The post holder will obtain blood samples, whilst adhering to Protocols and Guidelines including Health and Safety legislation and ensure correct labelling of blood samples in preparation for forwarding to the laboratory for testing. The post holder will also be required to perform patient checks such as height, weight, BP and the processing of urinalysis. Domiciliary phlebotomy is part of this role and a full clean driving license is essential along with access to a car.

Duties
Venepuncture as directed and required.
Coagucheck samples
Domiciliary Samples
Completing all relevant paperwork and entering data in patient's clinical records. Labelling and preparing samples for Laboratory Van uplift. Ensuring samples are taken to dispatch point in good time for uplift.
Responsible for maintaining adequate stocks and supplies of venepuncture equipment and materials.
Liaising with doctors and surgery staff to ensure efficient use of resources.
The post holder will also assist the clinicians with patient checks such as height, weight, BP and urinalysis. A full clean driving licence is essential with access to a car as house visits are part of the role.
From time to time, it may be necessary to assist Treatment Room Staff with other general duties. Details of these duties will be issued by the Treatment Room Nurse.

Working knowledge of clinical software – Vision & ICE would be advantageous.
