Yard Operative / Counterbalance Driver Nottingham £13.00 per hour Full-Time, Temp - Perm We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Counterbalance Driver on behalf of a well-established builders merchant in Nottingham. This is a hands-on role, with approximately 80% of your time spent working within the yard and 20% operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck. The successful candidate will have previous experience within a builders merchant environment and be confident handling a range of building materials. Key Responsibilities Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles. Picking and preparing orders accurately for collection and delivery. Serving trade and retail customers in the yard. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment. Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently. Assisting with stock control and stock movements. Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Supporting colleagues across the branch as required. Requirements Previous experience working within a Builders Merchant is essential. Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (CBT) qualification/licence. Good knowledge of building materials and products. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a busy yard environment. Reliable, hardworking and safety conscious. Good communication and teamwork skills.
