Company Overview
Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an apprentice-trained, experienced CNC Machinist (Turner/Mill-Turn) to join our Wolverhampton facility. We design complex, high-profile mechanical products with close tolerance requirements, especially in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate CNC lathes
2. Work with various materials
3. Set up and operate machine tools
4. Perform first-off inspection and document quality checks
5. Maintain proven experience in a machine shop environment
6. Use precision measurement equipment confidently
Key Expertise
1. Industrious apprenticeship, craft, or technical qualification preferred
2. Minimum of 3 years operating star sliding head machines
3. Experience in engineering/manufacturing, ideally aerospace
4. Knowledge of machining techniques and tools
5. Attention to detail and process improvement skills
6. Proficiency with inspection techniques and equipment to meet drawing tolerances
Additional Requirements
This role requires night shift work and potential overtime. Candidates must be self-certified and obtain a quality stamp after the qualifying period.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained. Inability to obtain clearance may affect employment eligibility.
