Senior Quantity Surveyor – Southern Region (Colchester)
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Location: Colchester office, with travel to projects across Essex, Suffolk and surrounding areas

Overview
A Specialist sub-contractor operating across East Anglia and into London, delivering high-quality interior fit-out packages encompassing drylining, SFS, suspended ceilings, glass partitions and acoustic solutions. The business continues to grow steadily, with projects delivered predominantly within the education, healthcare and commercial sectors.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern team based in Colchester. The role will suit someone who is commercially astute, proactive and able to manage multiple live projects with minimal supervision while maintaining close coordination with project and site teams.
Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of projects from contract award through to final account.

Preparation and submission of monthly applications and management of variations.
*
Negotiation and agreement of subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
*
Preparation and presentation of monthly CVRs.
*
Management of contractual correspondence and notices.
*
Attendance at progress and commercial meetings with clients and project teams.
*
Identification and management of risks, changes and opportunities.
*
Mentoring and supporting junior members of the commercial team where required.
Experience & Skills
*
5+ years’ experience in a specialist subcontracting or main contracting environment.
*
Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts; experience of NEC advantageous.
*
Excellent measurement, valuation and cost reporting capability.
*
Competent with Excel; experience with Bluebeam or similar measurement software preferred.
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing manner.
*
Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple live projects.
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites.
