About the Role

As People Insights Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality insights, models, and reporting from our diverse sources of People data. You will transform this data into actionable use cases, enabling your stakeholders throughout the People team and wider business to access, interpret and deliver measurable change. You'll also be the primary contact responsible for more complex People reporting requirements.

Working closely with our Chief People Officer and the People Directors, People Hub Systems and Data Quality Manager and our data engineering team you'll ensure data integrity, observability, and secure access controls, working closely with IT infrastructure colleagues and aligning with cyber security and governance standards.

This role requires a strong understanding of data privacy, partitioning, and access gating, particularly for sensitive employee data. You will ensure high levels of observability, coherence, and legal compliance, aligned with GDPR and internal governance standards.

People Data & Insight Modelling

* Design and deliver analytical models and dashboards to track all people metrics, including team and individual performance measures.
* Partner with the People Team to define and measure key metrics using data-driven approaches, so our leadership teams can be more effective in decision making, future scenario planning and knowing where we've had impact on the employee experience.
* Maintain and evolve Power BI dashboards combining internal and external People data sources.
* Perform and present insights to senior stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Own cross-functional people insights and operational reports to continuously quantify the impact of IT initiatives to people across SEG and our practices.
* Proactively leads, working together with internal functional and business contacts, when we need to submit data insights to third parties such as government data submissions, pay gap reporting, mercers.
* Responsible for cyclical reporting including Board Reports and QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews).

Data Operations & Governance

* Contribute to the automation of starters and leavers processes, ensuring secure provisioning and deprovisioning of access.
* Collaborate with IT and Data Engineering to implement secure data pipelines and access controls.
* Ensure sensitive People data is partitioned and gated appropriately, with clear observability and audit trails.
* Champion data quality, integrity, and compliance with GDPR and internal governance frameworks.
* Work with IT leadership to ensure data consent is captured, maintained and clearly enables current and future business needs inc. Use and tracking of AI usage and productivity.

Enablement & Collaboration

* Being the inspirational People data storyteller sharing passion and expertise to be more data savvy with the confidence to use it everyday.
* Support the People Team in developing their own data literacy and self-service capabilities.
* Deliver training and documentation to enable effective use of dashboards and insights.
* Act as a bridge between HR, IT, and Data teams to ensure alignment on systems, integrations, and reporting needs.
* Working within our wider people and technology teams, being a contributor to our people and tech strategies.

About You:

* 3-5 years experience as a HR/People Analytics senior analyst
* Demonstrable prior success in a People Data Analyst/Data Analytics or similar role, ideally (but not essentially) within the Education sector
* Proven ability to independently lead on People data deliverables and data projects
* Experience working with businesses at different levels of data maturity to scope and deliver timely solutions

Skills and knowledge:

* Experience and proficiency with advanced SQL, Power BI, statistics, Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
* Knowledge of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) legislation
* Knowledge of HR processes and people data best practices
* A certification or qualification in HRIS, data analysis, or a related field would be advantageous

* Analytical and quantitative skills with a proven ability to wrangle, analyse and visualise data to deliver accurate and actionable insights
* Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to recognise when and how to change direction to overcome challenges or issues
* Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders based on trust
* Exercises good judgement and confidentiality when handling sensitive data
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, with the to switch between conflicting priorities
* Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating and participating in the growth of the broader People department
