About the role
1. The Senior HSE specialist is responsible for providing specialised and professional advice and guidance to the Galloper Team, it’s line management team on all health, safety and environmental issues
2. Support the Galloper Team in and implement high standards of proactive and continual improvement ‘We Care’ ethos, including initiatives in behavioural safety, wellbeing and sustainability to ensure a positive impact on the team members
3. Liaising with internal and external departments to ensure contractors are suitably selected, engaged and monitored for health, safety and environmental performance
4. Oversee incident investigations to identify causes and mitigation approaches, encouraging a constant learning and reflective ethos in the Galloper Team
5. Produce, review and update health, safety and environment related documentation required by the allocated Galloper team or as directed by Head of HSE Offshore Operations and/or Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations, United Kingdom (UK)/Continental Europe (CE) or required by the HSE function
6. Contribute towards and deliver on annual key performance indicators, annual We Care goals and targets for the Galloper Team and wider business
7. Attend meetings, site visits and technology reviews with sub-contractors & clients in relation to offshore operations as directed by the Head of HSE Offshore Operations and/or Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations, United Kingdom (UK)/Continental Europe (CE)
8. Prepare and present monthly HSE report to the project Senior Management Team and Project Board as required
9. Deliver a programme of offshore training and maintenance of skills by completing rescue scenario’s and drills with the Galloper Team including external partners. This programme will also include managing regular safety stand down days and safety touchpoints with the offshore team
Job requirements and experience
10. NEBOSH Certificate
11. Hold IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management
12. Hold an audit qualification such as ISO 45001/14001 internal auditor
13. Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System
14. Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels through verbal and written communication including effective listening skills
15. Already be experienced as an HSE professional
16. Be able to display a practical and forward-thinking approach to handling operational HSE challenges
17. To act with integrity and have effective organisational skills, with a systematic, practical, and pragmatic approach. Able to work in a time-sensitive setting, and be team-oriented
18. Good written and spoken English
19. Good health, with general all round fitness to work in an offshore environment is a requirement for the role
Advantageous, but not essential
20. Working towards a NEBOSH Diploma
We offer a hybrid working model, with a minimum requirement of three days per week on site. As a result, candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.
