Certain Advantage is proud to partner with a leading automotive manufacturer to recruit a forward-thinking and proactive Joining / Manufacturing Engineer. This position is critical in ensuring the manufacturability, efficiency, and quality of all joining technologies across the production line. You’ll play a central role in driving digital transformation, optimising processes, and collaborating across departments to uphold the highest engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver technical and hands-on support across joining technologies, including RSW, SPR, FDS, adhesive bonding, and more.
Analyse trial data and technical inputs to optimise joining feasibility and quality.
Coordinate with Product Development, Process Engineering, and Line Builders to ensure seamless integration of joining processes under plant conditions.
Manage vendor relationships, monitor technical milestones, and escalate deviations as needed.
Champion consistency and quality by enforcing project methodology and manufacturing best practices.
Lead initiatives to automate processes, create data dashboards, and utilise AI and PowerApps for digital transformation.
Your Background:
Strong hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally automotive.
Technically curious with foundational understanding or keen interest in joining technologies like GTAW, laser welding, SPR, RSW, adhesive bonding, and FDS.
Highly collaborative team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from manufacturing data.
Proficient in digital tools and applications (Excel, macros, PowerApps, dashboards); a champion of automation and smart working.

Experience in automotive manufacturing environments or familiarity with plant-based production systems.
Digital or data projects you’ve led, including use of Excel, PowerApps, or AI tools in a manufacturing setting.
