QinetiQ Training & Simulation Ltd (QTSL) specialises in the development of a wide variety of interesting, bespoke software solutions across a wide range of technology including Artificial Intelligence, AR and VR technologies and mathematical modelling, to support current MOD requirements as well as undertaking research for the next generation of simulation systems to support UK force development. Activities include software development, support to training, technology research and experimentation into how the Military can best use simulation/synthetic environments.
The Role:
The role is to support the delivery of Maritime Battlestaff (MBS) training and assurance exercises at in Portsmouth, around the UK and overseas utilising the latest synthetic environments and technologies to create a fully immersive and engaging exercise environment. It also provides interface to MBS participation in Tier 3 exercises run by other organisations with the potential to stretch to join Tier 4 exercises.
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to be instrumental in the planning and deliver the exercise support requirements from either Portsdown Technology Park and/or from deployed locations.
Reporting to the MCAST (Maritime Command and Staff Trainer) Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day Real life Support activities including arrange the travel and logistics for the MCAST team and customers. Undertaking site recces and during exercises act as the troubleshoot .Working closely with the Integrated Logistics Support and Technical Teams and you will co-ordinate the arrivals and departure at training locations, and act as the single point of contact for safety and security issues.
Tasks include:
Coordinate travel, accommodation and logistics to ensure the right people and services are in the right place at the right time.
Undertake site recce alongside the technical delivery team.
Plan MCAST system deployment.
Co-ordinate with QinetiQ Corporate Services logistics team for any special travel or logistic needs (e.g. overseas travel requiring special arrangements).
Support processing of arrivals and departures during events.
Plan, Arrange or conduct H&S, security and any site-specific standing orders in-briefs as part of the onboarding process.
Support VIP visits as required by the Authority.
During exercise, act as local 'trouble shooter' as required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be an armed forces veteran or Reservist with a strong understanding and proven experience delivering logistic support for deployed events and has experience of dealing with Senior Officers.
This role will suit those who enjoy 'making things happen' and is very 'delivery' focused. You will be working closely with the exercise delivery and technical teams to deliver a seamless experience to the training audience. Whilst the role is based in Portsmouth with regular visits to our HQ in Farnborough, and other sites in the UK, there will be occasional need for overseas travel.
Experience and skills:
Experience arranging Travel and Subsistence

Effective reporting up the chain of command
Expert user of the MS Office Suite
