About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated PCB Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern production environment, supporting the assembly and testing of high-quality electronic products.
You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of daily and weekly production plans
2. Perform hand soldering of components onto PCBs to a high standard
3. Carry out visual inspections and quality checks
4. Program PCBs using appropriate test equipment and fixtures
5. Conduct functional testing of assembled PCBs
6. Operate automated PCB assembly equipment
7. Monitor component stock levels and report shortages
8. Participate in periodic stock takes
Health & Safety
9. Follow all site health and safety procedures
10. Wear appropriate PPE for tasks and work areas
11. Carry out safety checks before starting tasks
12. Report any accidents or near misses promptly
Quality
13. Ensure all products meet required quality standards
14. Accurately complete quality documentation
15. Identify and suggest improvements to processes and quality
16. Escalate and manage non-conformances using internal processes
Operational Performance
17. Work closely with team leaders to maintain efficient production flow
18. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
19. Actively look for ways to improve efficiency and workflow
Housekeeping
20. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
21. Keep walkways and work areas clear at all times
Skills & Experience Required
22. Experience in PCB assembly and hand soldering
23. Strong inspection and quality control skills
24. Experience with PCB programming and functional testing
25. Familiarity with automated assembly equipment
26. Background in an SMT manufacturing/production environment
27. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Desirable Skills
28. IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification (or equivalent)
29. HNC or similar technical qualification
30. Additional SMT experience
