About The Role
Finance Business Partner – Adult Social Care
Fixed Term, 9 months.
Full Time, 37 hours per week.
Salary: £48,219 to £56,729 per annum.
Location: Chelmsford.

This role involves delivering high-quality financial advice within the service area, providing comprehensive support and innovative advice to management and Members across finance functions. Proficient analytical skills are essential for interpreting financial results and influencing decision-making by understanding costs and risks.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with internal and external partners to influence stakeholders and contribute to management forums. They will support efficiency improvements and cost reduction plans aligned with strategic objectives.
Accountabilities
* Support the business by understanding financial assets, liabilities, and priorities, presenting options to drive change and efficiency.
* Partner with Service Directors and stakeholders for financial performance management, pricing, and investment analysis; support business planning.
* Provide timely management information using insightful analysis and financial modelling to support business development.
* Support cross-organisational projects, ensuring inclusion of commercial and value considerations for transparent decision-making.
* Collaborate with Senior Finance Business Partners and Management Accountants to develop financial policies and plans aligned with strategic objectives.
* Ensure delivery of value for money services through benchmarking and trend analysis.
* Prepare robust business cases, quantifying costs, benefits, risks, and funding options, taking financial responsibility.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including impact assessments for legislative or service changes.
The Experience You Will Bring
Essential
* Full CCAB / CIMA qualification with ongoing professional development.
* Experience in financial management and frameworks, preferably in the public sector, covering a full financial cycle.
* Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and awareness of the political environment.
* Proven ability to identify improvements in financial systems and processes with a focus on performance.
Desirable
* Experience providing financial advice for decision-making.
* Ability to establish credibility and work effectively with management teams and networks.
* Experience working with senior managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes.
