We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales & Marketing Manager to lead the growth of Thornbury Golf Club & Lodge, taking ownership of Membership, Group Golf, Functions & Events and wider commercial sales performance.
This is more than a sales role. We’re looking for someone who can build a proactive business pipeline, create strong local partnerships, lead and inspire a team, and deliver measurable commercial success.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening Thornbury’s position as the premier family‑centric golf and leisure destination in the region.
Responsibilities
Driving Commercial Growth
* Full ownership of Membership, Group Golf, Functions & Lodge revenue performance (£1.4m+ annual accountability)
* Building and maintaining a strong external sales pipeline
* Identifying new revenue opportunities and partnerships
* Delivering against monthly and annual growth targets
Business Development & Networking
* Creating strong relationships with local businesses, corporate partners and community organisations
* Representing Thornbury Golf Club & Lodge at networking events, exhibitions and business forums
* Proactively generating new membership, golf day, event and corporate opportunities
Sales & Marketing Leadership
* Delivering impactful sales and marketing initiatives that drive enquiries and conversions
* Supporting digital and social media activity to increase brand awareness
* Driving customer acquisition, retention and engagement
People Leadership
* Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing Sales team
* Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and exceptional customer service
* Coaching and developing colleagues to maximise performance and conversion
About You
Commercially minded and results-driven.
A confident relationship builder and natural networker.
Experienced in sales leadership, business development or hospitality/leisure sales.
Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
