Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Bristol (BS32) – covering Midlands, Southwest & Wales
Hours: 37.5 per week - Hybrid
Engagement Type: Umbrella Hourly Rate
Start Date: ASAP- long term contract role
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Bristol team, delivering projects across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, transport, defence, and energy. The successful Senior Electrical Engineer will have a strong background in electrical building services design and experience managing complex projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* As a Senior Electrical Engineer, interpret project briefs and develop electrical building services designs including power, lighting, telecoms, life safety, and security systems.
* Conduct detailed calculations using Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Excel.
* Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
* Collaborate with BIM teams; experience with Autodesk Revit preferred.
* Work with the Global Technology Centre to deliver high-quality, innovative designs.
* Carry out site surveys, inspections, and produce technical reports.
* Manage own workload, budgets, and mentor junior staff as a Senior Electrical Engineer.
* Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and governance processes.
Requirements
* Degree in Building Services / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or IET) preferred.
* Strong proficiency in Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of energy reduction and decarbonisation strategies.
* Understanding of building physics, measurement & verification, and commissioning processes.
* Proven experience in a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
* Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills.
* Ability to deliver projects within time and budget constraints as a Senior Electrical Engineer.
