Cleaning Operative
The Cleaning Operative is responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning, hygiene, and waste management services across the site, ensuring compliance with all statutory, contractual, company, and health & safety requirements. The successful candidate will be reliable, hard-working, and committed to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards while providing professional, courteous service to clients, tenants, and visitors at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out routine cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and emptying waste bins.
2. Clean and sanitise desks, chairs, and other office furniture, ensuring all marks and stains are removed.
3. Clean and maintain washroom facilities, including toilets, urinals, hand basins, and associated fixtures.
4. Vacuum carpeted areas and undertake spot cleaning of carpets where required.
5. Operate electrically powered cleaning equipment, including scrubbers, polishers, and burnishing machines, in accordance with training and safety procedures.
6. Replenish consumable supplies, including soap, toilet rolls, paper towels, and other hygiene products.
7. Undertake periodic deep-cleaning tasks and special cleaning projects as directed.
8. Use cleaning chemicals and materials safely and effectively, following company procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
9. Assist with the movement and relocation of furniture and equipment to support office moves, storage, and reconfiguration projects.
10. Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damage identified during cleaning duties to the appropriate supervisor.
11. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude, interacting courteously with clients, tenants, colleagues, and visitors at all times.
Skills & Attributes
12. Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential.
13. Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
15. Reliable, punctual, and flexible in approach to work.
16. Knowledge of health and safety practices within a cleaning environment.
17. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
