The HR Advisor will support OD & HR initiatives that drive organisational improvement. The postholder will embody the OD & HR Services core purpose, which is to 'enable colleagues to be the best they can be, to deliver excellent services to our customers.'
Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly capable HR Advisor to join our fast-paced, dynamic OD & HR team at Cheshire West and Chester Council on a fixed-term contract until August 2026. The role is for 30 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to full-time (37 hours per week).
Role and Responsibilities
As a HR Advisor, you will provide professional advice to support Council Directorates on all aspects of HR and people management to ensure fair and consistent employee management.
You will have HR experience supporting a broad range of employee relations casework and effectively managing your workload. You should demonstrate influencing and negotiation skills, along with a thorough understanding of current employment legislation and best practices in people management.
Strategic Contribution
We have recently launched our 2025-2029 People Strategy. You will work collaboratively across the OD & HR service to support the delivery of this strategy, enhancing our colleague experience and further embedding our ‘One Council’ approach.
