Main duties of the job: To work as a part of the operational Facilities Team. The Supervisor will be required to exercise initiative and judgement to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and a quality front of house service that is supportive to the wards/departments and outer areas.

Job responsibilities
* Delivering the Service - On a daily basis Supervisors will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise.
* To train, monitor and supervise facilities staff in all the elements of their role.
* To supervise the handling of clinical waste generated by the retained estate.
* Supervisors are required to work with staff teams and to carry out domestic duties to cover the needs of the service.
* A Supervisor will be required to have the knowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff the skills necessary to complete service delivery.
* Supports the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy ensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff, visitors and patient within their area of work.
* Monitor areas of responsibility to ensure service standards are consistently delivered in line with the latest National Cleaning Standards taking remedial action as necessary.
* Monitoring of catering services at ward level to ensure compliance with the Trust’s food safety documentation and current food safety legislation.
* Actively support the reduction in food wastage.
* To support the Team Leaders in ensuring equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
* To inform Team Leaders of the ordering requirements to maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service.
* Undertake initial investigation and reporting of untoward incidents and accidents using Datix.
* Completion and returning of Absence Monitoring forms.
* Will be required to take responsibility for ensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner and that the Team Leaders are informed when an employee reaches the next stage of the Trust Management of Sickness and Absence Policy.
* Checking and countersigning clock cards on a weekly basis in preparation for data entry to the payroll data base.
* Management of annual leave requests in a timely manner.
