Qualifications and Program Requirements
1. A passion for public health with a genuine desire to improve outcomes for children and young people.
2. Current NMC registration, or eligibility to register as a newly qualified nurse or midwife before the course start date. Applicants must also meet the academic entry requirements for the University of Hertfordshire.
3. A commitment to a 52‑week full‑time programme, including timetabled annual leave, delivered by the University of Hertfordshire.
4. The course includes a 50/50 split between academic study and supervised practice within Healthy Child Programme teams.
5. A desire to build a long‑term career within the Healthy Child Programme Services.
Program Details
The School Nurse position is part of the PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN School Nurse) programme, beginning in January 2027.
