Job Title: Senior Authorised Person (up to 132kV)
Base Location: Bristol or Swansea
Salary: From £44,043 to £65,232 depending on experience for a 37-hour week. Regular additional payments for call out rota cover and overtime rates for all works out of normal working hours.
If you already hold relevant Enerveo authorisations, you will be able to work a 45-hour week, and this will be with a salary up to £79k.

Role Overview: We are recruiting a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to carry out LV & HV/EHV switching, isolation, earthing, PTW, SFT, identification of the point of work, and issuing safety documentation on construction and asset replacement projects on SSEN and private networks.
You will be responsible for operational duties, creating switching schedules, and controlling all electrical construction and fault restoration work on HV/LV networks up to 132kV. You will act as the delegated lead electrical person in emergencies and power restoration.
Typical Daily Activities:
Plan outages, produce switching programmes, and liaise with System/Local Control.
Make dead, isolate, and earth high-voltage electrical networks; carry out HV testing and fault location; issue Safety Documents, Permits to Work, and SFT.
Lead and promote a positive safety culture — develop SHE plans, review RAMS, deliver inductions and toolbox talks, investigate incidents, conduct site safety inspections, and ensure compliance with company and client rules.
Manage smaller/non-complex projects, including client liaison, tender support, and financial management.
Manage and supervise Jointer and Fitter teams; provide technical expertise and support clients with engineering solutions.
Mentor trainee SAPs, oversee HV operations training, and maintain operational authorisations.
This is a site-based role requiring regional travel, weekend working, and on-call duties on a rota basis. Candidate Requirements:
Authorised to conduct switching operations from 11kV to 33kV
Current DNO or equivalent Certificate of Authorisation
Strong safety and operational excellence attitude
Technical knowledge of DNO switchgear & associated plant
Excellent communication skills and leadership ability
Knowledge of current regulations, standards, and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
132 kV Authorisations (advantageous)
