Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on-site in Chelmsford. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial and commercial success of a 400kV substation project delivered under NEC 4 Option C.
This is a great opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project, driving cost control, contract management, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management
* Control project costs and ensure delivery within budget
* Prepare cost forecasts and identify risks/opportunities
* Manage subcontractor and supplier payments
Contract Administration
* Administer NEC 4 Option C contract
* Manage Compensation Events and variations
* Maintain accurate commercial records with the Project Manager
Risk & Value
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks
* Support value engineering initiatives
Reporting
* Produce CVRs, forecasts, and financial reports
* Present cost and risk updates to stakeholders
Collaboration
* Work with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Support procurement and subcontractor selection
Skills & Experience
Essential
* QS experience on large infrastructure projects
* Strong NEC 4 Option C knowledge
* Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
* Proficient in CEMAR and MS Excel
Desirable
* Power/substation project experience
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
