The role
The post holder provides technical and health and safety planning support to field teams for flood risk asset maintenance and capital improvements. Responsible for supervising the Powys IDD land drainage programme, contributing to forward planning, and supporting asset management, maintenance, and incident response. The role supports flexible working arrangements, with a hybrid pattern to be agreed upon appointment. Interviews will be face-to-face. Successful applicants will require a satisfactory DBS check. We aim to make offers within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
What you will do
* Support delivery of the Land Drainage Act and water level management across Powys IDD.
* Supervise the Powys IDD maintenance programme for water level management.
* Attend the IDD Advisory Group.
* Contribute to flood defence maintenance planning and delivery.
* Conduct utility searches and gather technical, environmental, and H&S information for works, inputting into risk management planning.
* Provide financial and technical data for accurate costing and efficient delivery.
* Support contract management and monitoring of flood risk maintenance.
* Use GIS systems to produce critical documents for FRM projects.
* Undertake health and safety duties relevant to the role.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skills
Demonstrate the following using STAR method:
* HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with related experience; A levels or equivalent are desirable.
* Support H&S best practices and promote safe working practices.
* Participate in cross-team working and stakeholder engagement.
* Good ICT, organizational, and records management skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Participation in NRW's incident response duty roster.
Welsh language level requirements
* Essential: Level B2 (Upper intermediate), with development to C1 (Proficiency) expected.
* Desirable: Level C1 (Proficiency).
