I'm recruiting for a part-time Finance Officer to join a charity, taking ownership of the full AP/AR function, bank reconciliations, and supporting with month-end. This is a permanent, office-based role (22.5 hours/week) working alongside a friendly and collaborative finance team. Client Details My client is a well-established national charity based in Epsom. Description The key responsibilities for the role of Finance Assistant - Part time will include: Manage the full accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate coding, invoicing, and payment runs using Sage. Perform weekly bank postings and reconciliations, applying strong double-entry bookkeeping principles across all transactions. Handle staff and supplier payments via Barclays.net and maintain up-to-date supplier and debtor records. Support month-end procedures, including journal postings, Gift Aid schedules, and preparation of key reconciliations. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct financial coding and explain financial concepts to non-finance staff. Profile The successful candidate for the role of Finance Assistant - Part time will have: Actively studying AAT with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and practical finance experience. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Comfortable working independently and communicating effectively with a remote team. Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables) and confident using accounting software such as Sage. Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
