Production Manager leads the Operations team to achieve high performance by setting clear goals, providing effective coaching, and facilitating development plans. This person will prioritize team losses, remove barriers, and offer regular feedback and recognition. The role involves daily management to ensure goals related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and service are met.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leads the Operations team to high performance in line with HPO (High Performance Organization) standards and cultural framework through effective coaching and facilitation.
* Sets clear expectations & goals, including development plans. Prioritises team losses, removes team barriers, provides regular performance and talent feedback to employees and rewards and recognises performance achievements.
* Coaches and supports the daily management of the team to prioritise work and achieve goals (Safety, Quality, PR, Cost, Service).
* Creates an atmosphere of 100% compliance to operational processes and procedures (SOPs), health & safety practices, world class manufacturing practices (GMP), and 5S / Visual Factory standards.
* Delivers daily KPI updates and meeting forums to report and support performance.
* Ensures timely management and clarity of escalations to drive performance at the required efficiency for the site.
* Delivers the planning and organisation of the overall workforce, focusing on improving the work environment. This includes recruitment, on-boarding, employee development and succession planning to ensure continuity of delivery.
* Coordinates and ensures execution of the activities of the Operations team to deliver against business needs, utilising support functions as necessary.
* Builds and optimises the production planning with the Scheduling department to maximise output and performance. Adapts and prioritizes in case of delays.
* Communicates challenges and delivers plan improvements to ensure customer service levels remain above target.
* Participates in the improvement of technical skills and knowledge of the team, working closely with the Training Lead to ensure compliance.
* The owner of performance improvement across all KPIs for the Operations team.
* Actively participates and is source of proposals for the performance improvement of the area.
* Utilises problem solving tools and TPM methodologies to continually improve equipment and processes. Leads root cause analysis when required for failures that meet the applicable threshold.
* Management of equipment and consumables purchases for Operations to ensure the team and the tools to perform and deliver in their roles.
* Act as a facilitator for project and trial work, representing the Operations team and supporting activities that benefit improvements and growth.
* Be an embedded member of the trinomen team with Engineering and Process Engineering, working proactively to make improvements wherever needed in relation to performance KPI’s. #LI-DNI
CANDIDATE PROFILE
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Management or relevant discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* Solid experience working in similar role in FMCG environment (food manufacturing preferred) with highly automated equipment.
* Relevant Team Leadership experience, including providing mid-level sponsorship (coaching, training, etc.) and behavioral modeling to the team.
* Experience working in TPM or Lean environments preferred (Keizen, Six Sigma).
* Certification within the production and/or inventory field preferred.
* Establish team discipline for the established processes and structures that have been created to support organizational goals. Maintain a sense of urgency to meeting scheduling plans and customer requirements.
* Considers what is motivating to the individual in improving performance and recognizing contributions.
