Lead a critical role in the Department for Transport’s Heathrow Expansion Programme, one of the UK’s highest-profile infrastructure priorities. As a Grade 7 in the Heathrow Expansion Directorate, you will work on reviewing the Airports National Policy Statement and shaping surface access for an expanded airport. Collaborating across government and with key stakeholders, you’ll define how passengers, staff and freight access Heathrow, helping deliver a complex, high-profile and politically significant programme at pace. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to: Lead consideration of policy issues related to access to an expanded Heathrow Airport, including road access and public transport.Work closely with potential scheme promoters, teams in DfT, National Highways and others to develop the right transport network to/from the airport and ensure this is delivered in line with the Government’s commitments.Lead engagement with key stakeholders on surface access to the airport, coordinating work across a range of issues to support the Government’s objectives for surface access.Contribute to the review of the Airports National Policy Statement ensuring that it accurately reflects latest Government policy and objectives for surface access.Contribute to the development of DfT surface access strategy, setting out the Department’s view on the right surface access network for the expanded airport.
