Position Summary
Applications are invited for a position in MASH DAST department at County Hall. The successful applicant will be working within the Safeguarding and Investigations command, primarily safeguarding victims of domestic abuse and children involved in these cases. Domestic abuse is wide ranging and covers physical, sexual, financial, psychological and emotional abuse of both adults and children.
The successful applicant will be self‑motivated, dynamic and be able to demonstrate the ability to be flexible, work on your own initiative and evidence your commitment to deliver an excellent quality of service to vulnerable victims.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
* Experience of conducting investigations/enquiries or demonstrate the ability to quickly develop the required skills
* Experience of engaging with members of the public
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
* Demonstrate the ability to use own initiative
* Demonstrate basic digital skills including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
* Full driving licence and the ability to travel and work in remote locations as required
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
* Experience of working on a multi‑agency basis (e.g. with Children's Services, Health etc)
* Evidenced ability to communicate with adults or children with vulnerabilities or complex needs
* Experience of working within a policing environment
Hours of work are 37 hours per week Monday to Friday / on a rotating shift pattern, which will include late and weekend working for which the appropriate allowance will be paid (Subject to review).
This is a full time post, however part time applications will be considered where the FWA can cover both weekend days, and an equal percentage of the FTE against the shifts in the pattern.
