Job Summary

The Care Home Housekeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall hygiene standards of our establishment. You will work closely with residents, staff, and management to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for all. You will support the service to maintain a high standard of infection prevention and control.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform routine cleaning tasks as per cleaning schedules including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, toilets, laundry and offices.
* Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of bathrooms and toilets, including restocking supplies and disinfecting surfaces.
* Change bed linens and make beds according to established standards.
* Assist with laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and personal clothing items.
* Handle and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
* Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly report any shortages to the appropriate personnel.
* Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the maintenance department or management.
* Follow infection control protocols and guidelines to prevent the spread of illness and infection.
* Uphold confidentiality and respect the privacy of residents and their belongings at all times.
* Provide assistance and support to residents as needed in a courteous and respectful manner.
* Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless operations and a positive resident experience.
* Support residents at meal times and to provide snacks/ drinks as per their individual needs.

Help in the running of the care home

Ensure a comfortable and clean environment is maintained for all people using the service:

* Ensure all records are kept up to date and in the correct place to comply with GDPR.

* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, supervisions and appraisals as required.

* Communicating with residents in a person centered way.

* Support with meaningful occupation of residents engaging them with cleaning where able and appropriate.

Health and Safety

Ensure health and safety requirements are met within the service:

* Carry out effective catering procedures in line with health and safety requirements

* Report faults and hazards

* Visually check equipment before use

* Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act

* Ensure that infection control procedures are carried out effectivel

* Ensure stocks of material are maintained and stored appropriately.

* Ensure COSHH regulations are followed.

Additionally

* To provide and respect all cultural needs.

* Carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.21 per hour
