Overview

The Environmental Products Team aims to generate commercial opportunities in global carbon markets. We source and generate environmental commodities (carbon credits) in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on regulated markets, in addition to supporting Glencore in delivering its climate obligations and targets.


Key Responsibilities

* Monitor and understand new policies and regulations.
* Analyse market data.
* Support the team in opportunity assessment.
* Manage consultant relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee ongoing projects in the portfolio.

By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong skills in your chosen function and be equipped with the highest level of professionalism, personal ownership, and commercial aptitude—skills essential for future careers at Glencore.


Qualifications & Desired Skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA), Python, and other coding languages is advantageous.
* Exceptional analytical and project management skills.
* Ability to work flexibly with a global team across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
* Ability to work with a broad range of markets and technologies.
* Flexible approach to problem‑solving, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently.
* Strong oral and written communication.
* Interest in environmental markets and climate policies.
* Interest in climate change policies and regulations, carbon trading and project development in low‑carbon sectors such as energy efficiency, methane reduction, community projects, nature‑based solutions, and carbon capture and removal.
* Entrepreneurial flair, commercial innovation or initiative.
* Resilience and determination to succeed in a commercial/competitive environment.
* Proficiency in solving and communicating complex problems.
* Ability to build relationships, work in and influence a team.
* Current study of a degree with a year in industry and availability to start placements in July 2026.
